Is This the Best Electric Toothbrush/Water Flosser of 2024? Soocas NEOS II Review

We all (hopefully) use a toothbrush daily, and your dentist is probably always reminding you to add a (water) flosser to your routine—but how many of us actually do it every day? Why hasn’t there been a product that combines both? Well, as of 2024, there is: the Soocas NEOS II. But is it any good? Let’s find out.
As you know, I’m a big fan of all things electric. I stopped driving gas-powered vehicles in 2017, and since then, I’ve tried to electrify just about everything I use—my generator, cooktop, BBQ grill, portable heater, and more. I bought my first electric toothbrush over 25 years ago, and much like RVs, they haven’t changed all that much in the past three decades. Sure, many companies are trying to “smartify” or “electrify” everything, and some brands even call their electric toothbrushes “smart.” Trust me—they’re not, and they don’t really need to be.

So, what's left for toothbrush makers to innovate really? In the past 5 years, I probably bought more than 10 different electric toothbrushes from big names such as Oral B, and Philips Sonicare as well as small brands like SURI or some popular ones on Amazon with weird brand names. The four things that matter to me most have always been design, ergonomics, battery life & charging, and care. For frequent travelers like me, having an electric toothbrush that's easy to carry around, easy to hold and brush, easy to recharge and last at least 30 days on a single charge, and is easy to clean is extremely important.
So, what’s the deal with Soocas? To be honest, the name always made me think they were making suitcases, not toothbrushes. But jokes aside, their concept is intriguing. An old friend of mine joined the company last year and reached out a few weeks ago asking if I’d like to try their latest flagship product, the NEOS II, which combines a water flosser with an electric toothbrush. Yes, you read that right—both functions in one device. Honestly, I wasn’t too excited about the concept at first. I’ve bought a few highly-rated water flossers on Amazon before, and the idea of combining one with a toothbrush didn’t sound promising. If you search “water flosser,” on Amazon you’ll find plenty of bulky, unattractive devices made of cheap-looking plastic that don’t look great on your vanity and are often hard to clean. Sometimes they’re overly powerful and can even hurt your gums. Not to mention you wouldn't want to have a bulky water flosser in your suitcase on a business trip. But the Soocas NEOS II is different.

DESIGN (7/10)
The Soocas NEOS II comes in two colors: Pearl White and Dark Violet. They sent me the white one, and my first impression was positive—the packaging is clean and made from recycled materials. Inside the box, you’ll find the NEOS II, two brush heads, a cleaning brush, and a magnetic charging cable. While the overall presentation is nice, I’m not a huge fan of the charger, but I’ll get to that later.
The toothbrush has a simple, clean design. While it’s not the most stylish option out there, it also won’t stand out awkwardly on your counter like many bulky water flossers do. The NEOS II has only three buttons: the top one activates “deep clean mode,” the middle adjusts the vibration intensity, and the bottom is for the “quick floss mode.”

Overall, the build quality is decent, but for a $169 toothbrush, I expected more. Personally, I’m not a fan of the high-gloss material, as it tends to feel a bit cheap. For comparison, SURI’s $99 toothbrush has a matte finish with a subtle texture, giving it a more refined look and feel.
ERGONOMICS (7/10)
Thanks to its 50 ml water reservoir, the NEOS II is relatively large and heavy, weighing in at 225g. For comparison, the SURI brush weighs just 84g. While it’s not difficult to hold or use, those with smaller hands might need some time to get accustomed to it. Personally, as a bigger guy with larger hands, I didn’t have any issues operating it.
PERFORMANCE (9/10)
TLDR - I love it. The NEOS II is probably the best-performing brush I’ve used, thanks to its built-in water flosser. Of course, you can dive into the technical specs and marketing claims, but here are some highlights:
“Blast away hidden debris with a powerful 124.3 PSI peak water pressure for deep cleaning.” They claim it’s 30% more powerful than typical portable water flossers. From my experience, many water flossers can be even stronger, but that’s not always a good thing. The NEOS II delivers enough pressure to get the job done without causing discomfort—especially important for someone like me with sensitive teeth and gums.
They also state that the brush vibrates up to 34,400 times per minute. I’m not entirely sure what that translates to, but it feels strong enough. It’s not as intense as the Laifen brush, which sometimes feels too powerful, but it provides a comfortable brushing experience. Their comparsion video is very convincing.

The modes are where things get a bit tricky. “Deep clean mode” starts with vibrations and gives a “brushing area change reminder” every 30 seconds. After 2 minutes, it automatically switches to spraying water. With a flow rate of 90 sprays per minute, it offers just the right amount of time to move between your teeth. While this sounds great in theory, 2 minutes of brushing can feel quite long, and I often end up manually activating the quick floss mode once I’m done brushing. Another downside is the confusing icons for the modes—you really need to read the manual to figure out what each button does.
CHARGING (7/10)
The toothbrush is equipped with a 2600 mAh battery, which adds 48g to its weight (though I’m not sure why they felt the need to highlight the battery weight on their website). On a single charge, it can last up to 30 days, making it ideal for travel.

Unlike many electric toothbrushes that have the charging port at the base, the NEOS II uses a magnetic charger that attaches to the back, allowing the brush to stand upright while charging. While I appreciate the placement of the charger, I’m not too thrilled about the zap icon on it. It reminds me of those no-brand wireless charging pads that you can find on Amazon with oversized icons, as if you need a giant visual cue to figure out where to place your device.
Aside from the unnecessary icon, my two main complaints are, first, the magnetic connection isn’t as strong as the one on the Laifen toothbrush. Second, the charging cable uses a USB-A port, which feels outdated in 2024, and it doesn’t come with an adapter, so I had to dig up an old phone charger to power it up.

CARE (8/10)
This is probably my second favorite topic when it comes to toothbrushes. I’m not sure how many of you electric toothbrush users regularly replace your brush heads, but when you do, you’ve likely seen the buildup of mold and toothpaste residue. I’ve experienced this with many of my previous electric toothbrushes, but so far, the SURI and Laifen models have been residue-free, even after almost a year of use. It’s promising to see that Soocas has emphasized the same on their website, highlighting that the NEOS II is designed to prevent residue buildup.
There’s also a yellow button at the bottom of the brush that detaches the water box lid from the body, making it easy to use the included cleaning brush for a thorough clean. I appreciate their attention to these small but important details.
WHO IS THIS FOR
The Soocas NEOS II, in my opinion, is designed for individuals who value both convenience and thorough oral hygiene. It’s perfect for those who want to streamline their dental care routine by combining a powerful electric toothbrush with a water flosser in a single device. Frequent travelers will appreciate its long battery life (up to 30 days on a single charge), compact design, and easy-to-clean features. Additionally, it’s well-suited for people with sensitive gums, as it offers effective cleaning without the overly intense pressure found in some standalone water flossers. If you’re someone who dislikes clutter on your bathroom counter and prefers an all-in-one solution that’s efficient and stylish regardless of price, the NEOS II could be an ideal choice.
WHERE TO BUY
You can purchase the Soocas NEOS II toothbrush from Amazon or on their official site.
I'd also recommend the two other electric toothbrushes that I own.
Laifen Wave (starting at $69.99)
SURI Sustainable Toothbrush (starting at $92)
The Laifen Wave looks beautiful and is well made and powerful with a strong magnetic charger. The SURI brush features sustainalbe plant-based materials and comes with a strong self-adhesive magnetic mount, ideal for those who like to brush while showering.
